A woman, identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, opened fire at Lakewood Church in Houston, leading to her death by law enforcement.

The Houston Police Department confirmed her documented mental health history and recovered anti-Semitic writing during their investigation.

Moreno’s 7-year-old child, involved in the exchange of gunfire, is in critical condition, while a 57-year-old man has been released from the hospital.

Moreno, previously identified as Jeffrey Escalante, had a criminal history dating back to 2005.

She used an AR-15 with “Palestine” written on it during the shooting and is believed to have acted as a “lone wolf,” not part of a larger group.

The incident raises concerns about recent mass shootings involving individuals identifying as transgender or non-binary, highlighting a broader societal issue.
