Veteran NBC broadcaster Bob Costas criticized MAGA supporters as a “coalition of the brainless” and emphasized the need to “repudiate” Trump and what he represents.

Costas expressed skepticism about Biden’s ability to counter Trump effectively and defended Biden’s mental state by pointing out Trump’s own “mental gaffes.”

The discussion also touched on Taylor Swift’s potential influence in U.S. politics, and Bill Maher commented on Special Counsel Robert Hur’s assessment of Biden.

Maher said about Hur’s report, that, “He spent 300 pages calling Biden Mr. Magoo, basically.”

“This is a person who could literally swing this election. I don’t know what that says about this country,” said Maher about Swift.

However, it’s important to note that not all MAGA supporters fit the description given by Costas, as many support less government intervention, lower taxes, an “America First” approach, border security, and a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Veteran NBC broadcaster Bob Costas appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday and slammed MAGA supporters as a “coalition of the brainless” who need to be “repudiated.”

Former President Donald Trump is the current frontrunner in the 2024 presidential race and is backed by tens of millions of Americans.

Costas said, “The MAGA cult, which is a coalition of the brainless and when it comes to fellow Republicans, the spineless, that coalition is not going away.”

“They want, for the time being, Trump. If Biden stepped aside tomorrow, there wouldn’t be a bunch of Democratic voters going, ‘oh, please, please stop,’ Your friend Gavin, Gavin Newsom, who’s a very charismatic and dynamic guy, but he’s being disingenuous when he makes an articulate case for Biden,” he continued.

“Then says, ‘I just don’t understand why this hasn’t landed.’ Yes, you do, Gavin, because Biden can’t utter one sentence of the five perfect paragraphs you just put together. He, not only can he not make the case for himself, he cannot prosecute in the court of public opinion, the case against Trump,” explained the sports broadcaster.

“And what needs to happen here isn’t a narrow victory, which is the best Biden could hope for. Trump, and what he represents, must be repudiated, not conservatism or Republicanism. MAGA must be repudiated and Biden ain’t the man for that job,” he lamented.
