In California, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested over two dozen illegal aliens convicted or charged with murder and child sex crimes in a recent sting operation.
ICE official Moises Becerra wrote in a statement, “The neighborhoods where we live are now safer with the arrest of these egregious criminals.”
“The success of this operation is only possible through the continued professionalism, integrity, and diligence of our officers and their commitment to safeguard the homeland,” he continued.
The arrests, which took place in the San Francisco Bay Area, targeted individuals involved in serious criminal activities, including felony lewd or lascivious acts on children and murder charges.
Despite California’s strict sanctuary state policy, ICE carried out the arrests, highlighting the ongoing debate surrounding cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.
California currently has the highest number of illegal aliens and their U.S.-born children in the United States, totaling nearly five million.
