Elon Musk’s company Neuralink partnered with the University of California, Davis for brain chip testing, resulting in the deaths of thousands of animals, including monkeys, sheep, and pigs.
The animals suffered extreme conditions, including multiple surgeries, amputations, and infections.
“The first human received an implant from @Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well. Initial results show promising neuron spike detection,” Musk said.
The company’s history of conducting “sloppy experiments” has raised concerns about device safety.
Despite claims of ethical treatment, the testing procedures and outcomes have sparked skepticism.
“Neuralink has a well-documented history of conducting unnecessary, sloppy experiments in monkeys, pigs, sheep, and other animals that raise serious concerns about the safety of its device,” the company stated.
“As such, the public should continue to be skeptical of the safety and functionality of any device produced by Neuralink.”
