MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell expressed astonishment at a court filing revealing that a co-defendant in the classified documents case against Donald Trump lacked a computer to review evidence.
The filing stated that the attorney was attempting to review discovery documents on a handheld tablet and the government had to loan him a laptop.
O’Donnell criticized the Trump team’s unprofessionalism, while former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann also found the situation unusual.
“The unprofessionalism and incompetence of the Trump team of lawyers continues to amaze,” O’Donnell said.
“So Jack Smith’s team of FBI agents and prosecutors has to serve as the Genius Bar for at least one Trump lawyer who doesn’t even own a computer,” he said.
The filing was in response to a motion from Trump’s attorneys, who claimed political bias in the investigation.
Prosecutors rejected these claims and emphasized their efforts to facilitate access to discovery.
Trump, along with two co-defendants, faces charges related to handling classified documents after leaving office.
