President Joe Biden is considering using executive action to address illegal migration at the southern border, aiming to curb the influx of migrants.
This move comes in response to criticism from Republicans, who claim that Biden’s failure to use his presidential authority has led to a significant increase in migration.
The proposed measures have been under consideration for months and may upset some progressives in Congress.
Biden’s pro-migration stance has been influenced by business-backed officials, hindering his efforts to control migration and posing a threat to his reelection.
“Everyone understands this all changed dramatically when he walked into the White House,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said.
“The idea that he could blame Republicans for the catastrophe they created is laughable — it’s time for him to take ownership,” Johnson said.
