A recent Redfield Wilton Strategies poll in Texas shows that in a hypothetical general election race, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by nine points, with 44 percent of Texas voters supporting Trump.

In a separate scenario with former Gov. Nikki Haley as the Republican nominee, Biden leads with 32 percent, while Haley trails closely with 30 percent.

The poll also indicates that a plurality of respondents believe Trump has a better chance of beating Biden compared to Haley.

The top issues influencing voters are the economy, immigration, and healthcare.

The poll surveyed 814 Texas voters from February 1-3, 2024, with a margin of error of ± 3.43 percentage points.
