Karolina Shiino, the 2024 Miss Japan Grand Prix winner, has relinquished her title after a magazine report revealed her affair with a married influencer.
The report initially claimed she was unaware of the doctor’s marital status, but the association later admitted she knew.
Consequently, Shiino offered to step down, becoming the first winner to do so.
Her victory sparked debate on Japanese identity and eligibility criteria for Miss Japan.
