Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband, citing threats and property destruction.
The couple’s divorce filing in October follows a history of conflicts. Boebert’s request referenced two January incidents leading to charges against her ex-husband.
She also announced her intent to run in a more conservative district for the 2024 election.
“It’s the right move for me, and it’s the right decision for those who support our conservative movement. This is the right move for Colorado for us,” Boebert said.
“2024 is going to be tough, we cannot lose the third, and Colorado’s fourth district is hungry for an unapologetic defender of freedom with a proven track record of standing strong for conservative principles. We have to protect our majority in the House, win the Senate, and win the presidency.”
However, her decision to switch districts may face challenges, as suggested by a recent straw poll.
Boebert accused her opponent of receiving substantial campaign funds.
She plans to move to the 4th district, which is considered solidly Republican, aiming to secure a more favorable position.
