Former Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby was convicted of mortgage fraud, while being acquitted of a second fraud charge.

The case involved allegations that she made false statements on loan applications to purchase two Florida vacation homes, using pandemic-related hardship claims to make early withdrawals from her retirement account for down payments.

The trial, moved from Baltimore to Greenbelt, Maryland, included emotional testimony from Mosby and her ex-husband.

Prosecutors claimed she failed to disclose debt and lied about receiving a gift, leading to her conviction.

Mosby, known for her progressive policies during her tenure as state’s attorney, was previously convicted on two counts of perjury in a separate trial.
