The final season premiere of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” took a direct jab at Donald Trump, featuring a scene where Larry David’s character gets arrested for giving water to a friend waiting in line to vote, in violation of a Georgia state law.
The show’s executive producer, Jeff Schaffer, revealed that the spoof mug shot moment was created after filming had wrapped.
This isn’t the first time the show has mocked Trump, as a previous episode featured David wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
“We were always going to Atlanta because of that barbaric law that you can’t give anybody water or food when they’re in line for voting. When we were talking about stories, Larry said, ‘This law is insane. I think it’d be funny if I got arrested for that,’” Jeff Schaffer said.
“This is crazy. You’re in Atlanta, he’s in Atlanta, you just got arrested. Let’s do this! We had to wait until the strike was over to even be able to shoot Larry looking like our former Oompa Loompa. So it came completely afterwards,” Schaffer said.
“It was honestly a byproduct of us having to wait around during the strike,” he added. “It was perfect and now it looks like the whole thing was because of that and that was the last thing that happened.”

Trump shared a scene from the episode on social media, apparently unaware it was mocking him.
Both David and Schaffer expressed surprise at Trump’s response, with Schaffer calling Trump’s actions “crazy” and deciding not to respond further.
“What in God’s name was that?” David said of Trump’s post. “That was crazy, crazy. I don’t understand it. I still don’t get it.”
A whole new dose of debacles.

“This guy is so stupid, he doesn’t realize we’re making fun of him,” Schaffer said.
“It’s so funny — when we were shooting it, someone on set was like, ‘When this comes out, he’s definitely going to tweet about this.’ And I said, ‘No, that’s crazy.’ And then he did, and he pinned it at the top of his feed, and it just stayed up there.”
“Larry and I talked about it, like, is there a response we do? But we decided to just let that orange-haired baby sit in his own messy diaper,” he said.
