Musk encouraged Shivon Zilis, a senior executive at Neuralink Corp., to have children with him, aligning with his belief in procreation among the intellectually inclined.
Despite not being in a romantic relationship, Musk has been actively involved in their children’s lives.
“He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to,” Zilis said.
“If the choice is between an anonymous donor or doing it with the person you admire more in the world, for me it was a pretty f—— easy decision,” she said.
This decision stems from Musk’s concerns about global population decline and the importance of reversing this trend, particularly among those with high intelligence.
“Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” Musk wrote in 2022.
His recent advancements in technology, such as the successful implantation of a “brain-reading” device by Neuralink, reflect his multifaceted strategy to shape a smarter, more capable future generation.
