Chris Sununu, a Republican governor, appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher” where Maher bluntly confronted Sununu’s support for Nikki Haley over Donald Trump.
Maher emphasized that Trump is likely to win the GOP nomination, despite Sununu’s preference for Haley.
Maher’s assertion was met with audience laughter and Sununu’s visible discomfort.

“Nikki Haley ’24, and I mean it,” Sununu said.
“Let’s deal in reality here,” Maher said. “First of all, Nikki Haley’s not gonna be the nominee. It is Trump. Let’s not argue about stupid things.”
Sununu then argued that Maher was speaking as if “voters don’t matter.”
“The voters do matter,” Maher said, “and they’re voting for Trump, overwhelmingly.”
