A Meredith College poll in North Carolina indicates that in a hypothetical general election matchup, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by five points, with 44 percent of registered voters backing Trump and 39 percent supporting Biden.
Trump holds a significant lead over potential Republican primary opponent Nikki Haley, with 72 percent of respondents planning to vote in the primary supporting Trump compared to Haley’s 20 percent.
Meredith Poll Director David McLennan said, “Trump’s lead in North Carolina seems very consistent since the last administration of the Meredith Poll. Even with Republicans dropping out of the race, there seems to be no momentum for Nikki Haley in the state.”
