A 17-year-old Florida teenager, Isaac Francis, and his friends caught a nearly 250-pound goliath grouper from Turtle Beach in Sarasota.

Isaac, an experienced fisherman, credited both luck and skill for the catch.

The fish must be released alive and unharmed according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regulations.

While Isaac’s catch was significant, the state record for a goliath fish is 680 pounds, and these fish can grow to 800 pounds and over 8 feet in length.
