Nikki Haley has emphasized the need for “mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old,” seen as a critique of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
As Haley ramps up her campaign before the South Carolina primary, she is targeting Trump, particularly on his age and mental capacity.
Haley’s strategy also focuses on attracting donors who seek a candidate willing to challenge Trump.
“Nikki Haley, you know they, do you know they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything, deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it, because of lots of things like Nikki Haley is in charge of security,” Trump said of Haley’s supposed involvement in the January 6 insurrection.
“We offered her 10,000 people, soldiers, National Guard, whatever they want. They turned it down. They don’t want to talk about that. These are very dishonest people.”
Trump’s recent speech blunder led Haley to question his mental fitness, prompting her to launch an ad campaign titled “Grumpy Old Men,” targeting both Biden and Trump.
While Biden’s age is acknowledged as an issue, his performance in office contrasts with Trump’s perceived decline, making this a strategic move for Haley.
She advocates for a public demonstration of fitness, challenging Trump to a debate on the matter.
