Harvard Medical School is facing allegations of data falsification and plagiarism by a prominent neuroscientist, Khalid Shah.
The accusations, spanning from 2001 to 2023, involve manipulation of data and images in 21 research papers.
Experts have highlighted instances of data falsification and image manipulation, casting doubt on the integrity of Shah’s work.
Matthew S. Schrag said, “This is a really unusual sort of thing that I cannot imagine how this happens by accident.”
This case adds to a series of alleged misconduct involving Harvard researchers, including a separate accusation of plagiarism against Harvard’s chief diversity and inclusion officer.
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, affiliated with Harvard, is also under scrutiny for data falsification.
