Denver 13-Year-Old Boy Accused in Fatal Shooting of 60-Year-Old Man

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on an RTD bus in Denver, Colorado.

The incident, which took place near South Federal Boulevard and West Mississippi Avenue, resulted in the death of a man identified as Richard Sanchez, 60, who succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Another individual sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene and released.

“The boy was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of first-degree murder,” the Denver Police Department said in a news release.

“Officers responded to a shooting on a Transdev bus near the intersection of South Federal Boulevard and West Mississippi Avenue,” the report added.

Authorities indicated that the man’s leg was blocking the aisle prior to the shooting.
