The Wall Street Journal criticized the conspiracy theory propagated by “Trumpy internet trolls” that Taylor Swift, who is dating an NFL player, will rig the Super Bowl in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs and then endorse Joe Biden, ensuring his win over Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

The newspaper’s conservative editorial board highlighted the absurdity of the theory and questioned the GOP’s position if they believe Biden could easily win with such endorsements.

The “paranoia on the right about a romance between the most popular singer in the world and an NFL player does make Republicans seem, frankly, weird,” WSJ’s editorial board wrote.

“A question, though, for the trolls: If they believe defeating Mr. Trump is so easy that Mr. Biden can do it merely by getting an endorsement from a singer who backed him in 2020, doesn’t that suggest the GOP might be making a mistake by nominating such a weak candidate?” they asked.
