Donald Trump falsely claimed victory in his New York civil cases, stating that he had won in the court of appeals, which is not true.

In a defamation case, writer E. Jean Carroll was awarded $83.3 million in damages after accusing Trump of defaming her.

In a separate trial, a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll and for defaming her, ordering him to pay $5 million in damages.

“Are you thinking of potentially trying to use campaign funds to pay some of the penalties?” a reporter asked.

Trump has denied all wrongdoing and vowed to appeal.

“What penalties?” Trump pressed.

“In the New York fraud cause and the defamation case,” the reporter said.

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” said Trump. “I mean, that’s been proven as far as I’m concerned.”

He added that “actually, we won in the court of appeals.”

In the New York civil business case, Trump was found liable for fraud, and the judge is expected to rule on additional claims and the amount Trump must pay.

The New York Attorney General has asked for $370 million in the lawsuit.
