Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have collaborated closely on a new immigration plan, which has raised concerns due to its hidden contents and potential loopholes.
“I have never worked more closely with Leader McConnell on any piece of legislation as we did on this,” Schumer said.
The bill, negotiated by a small group of senators and advised by Alejandro Mayorkas, aims to address border security and immigration issues.

While it is likely to pass the Senate, Speaker Mike Johnson has expressed opposition, stating that the bill, if it reaches the House, will be “dead on arrival.”
