A 14-year-old girl missing from Mount Vernon for nearly a month was found in Michigan.
The suspect, identified as a 30-year-old man named Keith, was tracked down through ride-share service history.
The girl’s parents were relieved, and there is probable cause to charge the suspect with second-degree kidnapping.
“Mount Vernon has limited ride-share options, so investigators were able to locate a particular ride that Ella may have taken,” the police department stated.
“Investigators were able to identify the subject ‘Keith’ who ordered that ride share for her and his address in South Haven, Michigan.”
It was revealed that the suspect is facing charges of first-degree criminal sexual assault, failure to register as a sex offender, and contributing to delinquency with children in Michigan.
The police are continuing the investigation.
