Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio is facing a tough re-election battle, with new polling indicating a significant narrowing of his lead over potential Republican rivals.
The survey shows that Brown’s lead has decreased, and he now holds only a slim margin over his GOP opponents.
Businessman Bernie Moreno, backed by former President Donald Trump, has gained ground and support.
“Ohioans are struggling under the failed policies of Sherrod Brown and Joe Biden,” Ben Kindel said. “They want a battle-tested conservative like Frank LaRose who will actually fight for them in Washington.”
The Ohio Republican Party’s endorsement of Trump signals a rightward shift in the state’s politics.
Despite being out-raised by his Republican rivals, Brown has reserved airtime for advertisements and has a substantial campaign fund.
The survey also suggests that Trump is leading President Joe Biden in Ohio, indicating potential challenges for Senate Democrats in the upcoming election.
