MSNBC’s Jen Psaki highlighted how Nikki Haley’s criticisms of Donald Trump in the GOP presidential primary could ultimately benefit President Joe Biden in a potential 2024 election replay.
Psaki pointed out the historical trend of primary attacks resurfacing in the general election, citing examples of past presidents.
Specifically, Haley’s portrayal of Trump as “old and confused” has been seized upon by the Biden campaign, with Psaki noting that they are prepared to run against Trump and may welcome the assistance from Haley in the meantime.
“The Biden team is clearly ready to run against Trump, we see that, they’ve said that,” Psaki said.
“But in the meantime they may not mind some of these assists from Nikki Haley.”
