The Trump campaign has denounced reports claiming that preliminary overtures were made to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about serving as the former president’s running mate in 2024, labeling the allegations as fake news.

The initial report, cited by Fox News and the New York Post, suggested that Trump operatives expressed interest in Kennedy, but political strategist Chris LaCivita dismissed the claim on social media, categorizing it as “100% FAKE NEWS.”

Kennedy, initially running as a Democrat, has since switched to stand as an independent candidate and reportedly wasn’t interested in joining Trump’s Republican campaign.

This isn’t the first time Trump and RFK Jr.’s presidential ambitions have intersected, as RFK Jr. previously refused to attack Trump in an interview and expressed pride in the former president liking him despite their disagreements on most issues.
