Harvard University has acknowledged potential plagiarism in former president Claudine Gay’s academic work following a probe.

The university admitted to learning about the plagiarism allegations in October, contradicting its previous defense of Gay.

The scrutiny of Gay’s academic career arose after a Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, which led to criticism of Harvard’s handling of antisemitism on campus.

Conservative activist Christopher Rufo wrote, “Harvard now admitting that its whole defense of Claudine Gay was bogus. Whoops!”

Gay’s resignation followed the allegations, making her tenure the shortest in Harvard’s history.
