Mark Zuckerberg is anticipated to support Silicon Valley entrepreneur Sam Lessin to join Harvard University’s Board of Overseers.

Lessin, a former Facebook employee and Zuckerberg’s classmate, is concerned about antisemitism at Harvard and plans to discuss this issue with Zuckerberg and his wife.

Lessin has received endorsements from various influential figures, and he believes he is a superior candidate due to his technology background.

“Antisemitism at Harvard is extremely disappointing and a huge problem,” Lessin said. “It needs to be solved, but it’s also the canary in the coal mine in terms of a free speech problem.”

He emphasized the importance of trusted institutions like Harvard and suggests that tech entrepreneurs may be underrepresented due to their focus on building new ventures.

“In tech, I think a lot about platforms — we need trusted institutions like Harvard,” Lessin added.
