Senator John Barrasso’s wife, Bobbi, has passed away after battling glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer, for two years.
Barrasso, chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers, remembering Bobbi as a dedicated wife, mother, and advocate for Wyoming.
Sen. Barrasso wrote, “After a courageous battle with cancer, Bobbi is now at peace and at home with the Lord.”
“In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Bobbi was a leader, fierce advocate for Wyoming, and friend to everyone she met. We miss her dearly. On behalf of our entire family, we thank everyone for your prayers and continued support as we remember her and grieve together,” his statement continued.
Glioblastoma, the most common primary brain cancer, originates from glial cells and affects around 12,000 people in the United States annually. Bobbi had previously overcome breast cancer and underwent a successful surgical procedure for an intracranial lesion in 2022.
The couple, married in 2008, has three children.
Glioblastoma has claimed the lives of notable figures, including former Senators John McCain and Edward M. Kennedy, as well as President Joe Biden’s son, Beau.
The disease tragically causes approximately 10,000 deaths in the U.S. each year.
