Rep. Lauren Boebert is set to participate in the first Republican primary debate for the 4th Congressional District, after switching from her previous district.

Her opponents have accused her of being a “carpetbagger.” Boebert’s move was driven by the fear of losing her current seat and the belief that Republicans have a better chance of retaining the 3rd District without her.

Her rivals in the primary include prominent figures from Colorado’s Legislature.

Boebert’s national name recognition and hard-line conservative stance may benefit her in the 4th District, which heavily supported Trump in 2020.

However, her opponents are challenging her national reputation and have raised concerns about her behavior, including a past scandal.

The district is characterized by conservative Christian values and a mix of rural and urban populations.

Boebert had been expected to face a rematch against Democrat Adam Frisch before switching districts.
