Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expressed support for Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s efforts to secure the Texas-Mexico border against illegal immigration.
DeSantis emphasized that states have the right to defend themselves against invasion, and Florida will continue to assist Texas with personnel and assets.
DeSantis posted, “If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would have never joined the union when it did.”
Governor DeSantis is an extremely smart man. He says that he will send the Florida State Guard to help secure the Texas border because then Biden won't be able to federalize them and the state can keep control of them. pic.twitter.com/d4kjawlUDB

“TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it. FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets,” he continued.
Both governors criticized the Biden administration for neglecting border security, with Abbott declaring an invasion under Texas’s constitutional authority to defend itself.
“For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself,” said Gov. Abbott.
“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border,” he continued.
The Supreme Court is siding with the Biden administration against Texas by allowing the federal government to take down razor wire on the border.

DeSantis commented, “Texas is trying to enforce our laws and uphold our sovereignty while the federal government is disregarding the law and ignoring its responsibility to protect our borders.”
“What an upside down world,” he added.
The Supreme Court’s decision allowing the removal of razor wire at the border was met with disapproval from DeSantis, who highlighted the federal government’s failure to uphold border laws and sovereignty.
