A brother and sister from Arizona, Felicia and Cory Konold, have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in the 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection. Felicia will serve 45 days, and Cory will serve 30 days, followed by 24 months of supervision.

Federal prosecutors had requested longer sentences, citing Felicia’s preplanning and lack of repentance.

The siblings were involved with the Proud Boys extremist group and participated in the Capitol breach.

“Felicia Konold’s own diary entries reflect a degree of preparation for the riot and … her ‘pre-planning notes’ show that she ‘fully anticipated that she would be engaged in violence,’” federal prosecutors wrote.

“I never could … have imagined having that much of an influence on the events that unfolded today,” Konold said on video.

Felicia was seen celebrating her leadership role in the events and displaying a “Proud Boys” challenge coin, despite denying any direct involvement with the group in an interview.

“Dude, people were willing to follow. You f—— lead, and everyone had my back, dude … my feet weren’t even on the ground, all my boys, behind me, holding me up in the air, pushing back,” she added, saying, “We f—— did it.”

“I’m not just fighting for my freedom. … I’m fighting for all of America’s freedom,” she later said.
