Texas authorities have been installing razor wire at the southern border despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling granting federal agents access to cut through such obstacles.
Governor Greg Abbott stated that the wire is being used to repel illegal immigration, citing it as an effective deterrent against border crossings encouraged by Biden’s policies.
The Supreme Court temporarily allowed Border Patrol agents to cut or remove the razor wire fencing, but Abbott ordered additional razor wire installation, emphasizing his commitment to defending Texas’ authority to secure the border.

“Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property,” Abbott wrote.
The Justice Department has threatened to sue Texas over its handling of illegal immigrants, and there have been disputes over the construction of a floating barrier in the Rio Grande.
Additionally, Abbott has transported migrants to Democrat-run cities, and there has been a significant increase in border encounters, surpassing previous records.
