A record 21.3 million Americans have enrolled for Obamacare health insurance for 2024, marking a 31% increase from the previous year and the highest enrollment since its inception.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) aims to provide affordable health insurance coverage for low and middle-income Americans without access through an employer.
Over 5 million new enrollees have signed up for 2024 plans, and open enrollment continues in several states and Washington, D.C.

“For decades, when it came to federal programs we could depend on to keep Americans covered, three were always top of mind — Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, but now it’s crystal clear that we need to add a fourth — the Affordable Care Act,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra stated.
The program offers income-based subsidies to its enrollees.
