Sen. Tim Scott was questioned by Laura Ingraham about his reaction to Donald Trump’s criticism of Nikki Haley, Scott’s friend and former South Carolina governor.

Scott, who expressed support for Trump, acknowledged discomfort with Trump’s remarks about Haley’s dress.

“Nikki Haley’s your buddy. These things are uncomfortable. You’re sitting up there and he’s pretty tough on her last night. I mean, it was pretty tough,” Ingraham said.

“I probably wouldn’t have recommended that he go after the dress. I mean, that’s Trump. But was it uncomfortable for you because of your friendship with her?” she asked.

Despite previously praising Haley, Scott criticized her for aligning with moderate Republican views and emphasized differences on issues like Social Security and border security.

Haley “served our state well as a conservative governor,” Scott said.

“She has decided to be a moderate Republican presidential candidate,” he added.

“She said she’s not a globalist,” Ingraham noted.
