Former MLB player and Republican Steve Garvey is gaining ground in the California Senate race as the March 5 primary nears, solidly in second place in the recent Emerson College poll, which would propel him into the November election.
Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff is barely ahead in the poll, but he faces controversy over his residency claims, allegedly designating both Maryland and California as his primary residences for tax benefits.
The revelations may pose problems for his Senate campaign. Despite Schiff’s campaign’s insistence that both addresses are year-round residences, evidence suggests otherwise, potentially impacting his standing in the race.
Adam Schiff gets called out during the CA Senate debate by Republican Steve Garvey for lying about Russian collusion:
Garvey: "I believe you were censured for lying."
Schiff: "I was censured for standing up to a corrupt president"
Garvey: "Sir, you lied to 300 million… pic.twitter.com/R3f1SuCmZY

“Everywhere we go, the excitement for Steve Garvey is palpable,” Garvey campaign spokesman Matt Shupe said.
“As Californians reconnect with Steve Garvey and embrace his message of compassionate, commonsense solutions for the everyday issues they face, coupled with his commitment to building political consensus, we anticipate seeing even more support for his campaign. The dynamics of this election are clearly evolving into a race to beat Steve Garvey.”
