Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley spent $31 million in New Hampshire’s Republican primary, coming in second place.
The significant spending highlights the strong grassroots support for former President Donald Trump in the state and suggests that Haley’s efforts to challenge Trump may have been in vain.
The breakdown of ad spending for Republican primary candidates in New Hampshire and Iowa was also detailed, with Republicans collectively spending $167.2 million in the two states to try to defeat Trump, who spent significantly less at $34.1 million.
“Haley spent two million more than Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) — the most out of any candidate. Both amounted to more than half the total $123 million in ads between the Republican candidates since Monday,” one report noted.
