House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has subpoenaed HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra for information on the agency’s handling of criminals and gang members posing as Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs).
Jordan alleges that HHS has been uncooperative in providing details about the placement of UACs, vetting of adult sponsors, and the agency’s response when a UAC is found to be a criminal or gang member.
The subpoena follows concerns about the release of over 370,000 UACs into the U.S. interior by Biden’s DHS, with questions raised about the inspection of adult sponsors’ homes and reports of UACs being lost in the system.

This comes amid a surge in labor trafficking among migrant children, prompting an investigation by the Department of Labor Inspector General into the Biden administration’s handling of the issue.
