Google reached a settlement in a patent infringement lawsuit over AI chips with Singular Computing, avoiding a trial where Singular sought $1.67 billion in damages.

Singular claimed that Google used its technology in AI processing units for various services.

The lawsuit alleged that Google’s Tensor Processing Units infringed on Singular’s patents.

Google denied wrongdoing, stating that its technology was independently created.

Details of the settlement were not immediately available.
