Ford Motor Company is reducing production of its all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup due to low demand among American consumers.

This decision has led to around 1,400 workers being reassigned or offered retirement packages.

The company plans to produce only about 1,600 F-150 Lightnings a week, a 50 percent reduction from its initial goal of 3,200.

“This sucker’s quick,” Biden said of his experience in a Lightning.

Additionally, Ford is hiring 900 workers in Michigan to produce traditional gas-powered cars, reflecting high demand for such vehicles compared to electric ones.

These developments pose challenges for the Biden administration’s push for electric vehicles, as surveys indicate significant consumer reluctance to consider buying an EV for their next car.
