Electric vehicle owners in the Midwest are facing challenges in cold weather as their cars lose battery power and take longer to charge.

The cold weather reduces the range of electric car batteries by up to 40% and also increases charging times.

This has led to long lines and freezing drivers at charging stations.

“If you’re waiting in that line and you only have 50 miles, you’re not going to make it,” electric vehicle owner Joshalin Rivera said.

The Biden administration’s push for electric cars, despite their cold weather limitations and insufficient infrastructure, is criticized as potentially forcing people to adopt unreliable technology.

“It’s kind of like, I don’t really want a Tesla,” Rivera said.
