Fourteen House Democrats joined Republicans to pass a resolution demanding an end to President Joe Biden’s open-borders policies.
The resolution highlights the need for secure borders and orderly immigration processes, emphasizing the threat of illegal immigration to national security and American jobs.
Rep. Jared Golden said, “Most of us understand that nations need borders, those borders should be secured, and we should enforce the immigration laws on the books. Most of us also understand that those seeking entry to our country deserve an orderly and predictable immigration process. Right now we have problems on both fronts.”

“Illegal immigration threatens our national security and undermines American jobs. It’s time for Congress and the Biden administration to come together and pass legislation to meaningfully address issues at the border. It should be a top priority in Washington, just like it is in most of America,” he continued.
Rep. Nathaniel Moran said, “It shows that we’re in lockstep together to make sure that the president has a clear, unified message from the House Republicans and the Senate has a clear, unified message from the House Republicans, that says border security is of utmost consequence for this nation and its national security.”
It comes as part of discussions about border security issues and aims to convey a unified message to address the border security crisis.

The resolution criticizes the Biden administration’s actions, denouncing open-borders policies and urging an end to these policies.
According to the resolution, “the Biden administration created the illegal alien crisis at the southwest border by terminating the Migrant Protection Protocols, halting border wall construction, abusing parole authority, mass releasing millions of illegal aliens into the country, and implementing policies that incentivize illegal immigration, among other actions.”
The resolution “condemns the national security and public safety crisis that President Joe Biden, ‘Border Czar’ Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, and other Biden administration officials have created along the southwest border.”
