Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) urged Texas to defy the Supreme Court’s ruling favoring the Biden administration, which allowed the removal of physical barriers at the border.

He claimed that the administration was “staging a civil war,” suggesting that Texas had the right to ignore the ruling.

This came after a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling in favor of the Biden administration’s request to intervene in a dispute with Texas over border barriers.

“Media: ‘Congressman Higgins, the Supreme Court just ruled in favor of the Biden Admin over the State of Texas, saying that the federal government can remove physical barriers at the border put in place by Texas. What are your thoughts?’” Higgins remembered being questioned.

“Me: ‘My thoughts are that the feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground,’” he wrote.
