Rachel Maddow of MSNBC discussed the implications of Donald Trump’s win in the Iowa GOP 2024 presidential primary, highlighting a poll showing that 63% of surveyed Republicans in Iowa would still consider Trump fit for the presidency even if convicted of a crime.

Maddow expressed skepticism about the potential nomination of Trump, given that more than a third of Iowa caucusgoers opposed the idea.

“They’re going to nominate him nationwide?” asked Maddow.

“When even a third of Iowa caucusgoers say, ‘No, he can’t be president if he’s convicted’?” she continued.

“I’m sorry. But he’s gonna be convicted,” added the host.

She emphasized her belief that Trump will be convicted, prompting laughter from the panel and a discussion about the evidence against Trump.

“He’s gonna be convicted,” she repeated.

“Stage whispering!” exclaimed her guest.
