Elon Musk expressed discomfort working on AI and robotics projects at Tesla unless he gains more control of the company’s stock.
He threatened to build products outside of Tesla if his ownership stake doesn’t increase to around 25%, stating that having influential but not overriding voting control is essential for him to lead Tesla in AI and robotics.
“I am uncomfortable growing Tesla to be a leader in AI & robotics without having ~25% voting control. Enough to be influential, but not so much that I can’t be overturned,” Musk wrote.
“Unless that is the case, I would prefer to build products outside of Tesla,” he said.
