Kim Kardashian faced mixed reactions after showcasing her lavish SKKN office, including a tanning bed, in a TikTok video.
While some praised her, others expressed surprise and concern, especially in light of her sister Khloé’s history with melanoma.
In response to backlash, Kardashian explained that she uses the tanning bed for her psoriasis, despite recommendations against it by the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF).
I have psoriasis and it really helps when it’s bad. But I don’t use it too often https://t.co/QuIvUgcZcZ

“I’m Kim Kardashian, of course I have a tanning bed and a red light bed in my office,” Kardashian said.
“More than 419,000 cases of skin cancer in the U.S. each year are linked to indoor tanning, including about 245,000 basal cell carcinomas, 168,000 squamous cell carcinomas, and 6,200 melanomas,” the Skin Cancer Foundation writes.
“Wait I’m shocked about the tanning bed,” one X user wrote.
“She goes in a tanning bed?!??” another said.
“Kim, no disrespect, but why do you have a tanning bed when your sister has had a history of melanoma herself?” Dr. Scott Walter said online.
“I have psoriasis and it really helps when it’s bad. But I don’t use it too often,” Kardashian wrote.
The NPF advises UVB light treatment under medical supervision instead.
