Dak Prescott and Tony Romo, both Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks, share similar career trajectories, marked by regular-season success but playoff struggles.
Despite their underdog narratives and individual achievements, neither has won a Super Bowl, linking them further.
Prescott, at 31, has time on his side, unlike Romo, who faced health issues at a similar age.
“It’s not fair to put it all on Dak or Tony,” said a former teammate.
“Everyone needed to get it done,” they continued.
“You’re always looking at greats and what they’re doing, and you see guys like LeBron [James], Tom Brady, have these methods and spend millions of dollars on their body each year, and you wonder why,” said Dak Prescott.
“And it’s obvious when they’re playing as long as they played at such a high level that that’s what they need to do to feel comfortable,” he continued.
“I know deep down he felt he was at his best mentally when it came to the game, that if he was healthy, he could play the game as well as he ever could,” said Stephen Jones.
“But health got him,” he added.
The Cowboys face a critical decision on Prescott’s contract, reminiscent of their situation with Romo.
While the team envisions Prescott as their long-term starter, the looming question remains: Will Prescott lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl appearance, a feat that eluded Romo?
