Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday was celebrated at the Waltonwood Senior Living home in Michigan with a “Waltonwood to Dollywood” party and a book drive benefiting Parton’s Imagination Library.
The celebration included Dolly-inspired events and activities, and over 80% of the residents participated.
Waltonwood Main director of life enrichment Lindsay Charlefour, said, “It’s an absolute joy creating specialty programs for our residents, especially when celebrating an incredible, genuine woman who is her authentic self.”
“We all felt a bit of Dolly’s magic in us this week, adding that special sparkle to our experience that only she could inspire,” Charlefour continued.

The Imagination Library, started by Parton in 1995, aims to bring books to children in need, and the senior living facility is hosting a book drive until March 1.
