Texas has secured a rehearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, allowing a floating buoy barrier in the Rio Grande to remain until the full court hears the case in May 2024.
This decision reverses a prior ruling that ordered the state to remove the barrier.
The barrier, installed in July 2023, has been the subject of legal battles between Texas and the Biden Administration.
Additionally, there are ongoing disputes over the seizure of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass and the Border Patrol’s rights regarding concertina wire along the border.
These issues remain unresolved.
