According to the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), Daily Wire host Michael Knowles was the most targeted campus speaker in 2023, facing three censorship attempts at different universities due to his views on transgender ideology.

Despite the attempts to cancel his events, Knowles spoke at all three universities, with protesters outside calling him a “transphobe.”

“Transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely,” Knowles said previously.

“No even mildly reasonable person could have interpreted my words as insinuating any sort of violence,” he later said.

Other conservative speakers such as Matt Walsh, Riley Gaines, and Charlie Kirk also faced censorship attempts, with the majority of campaigns being from the Left to silence Right-leaning speakers.

The database also included instances of disruptions during speeches, highlighting the ongoing challenges to free speech on college campuses.
