U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan denied Trump lawyer Alina Habba’s request for an adjournment of E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation trial against the former president.
The judge sharply rejected the request, leading to a testy exchange.
Judge Kaplan said, “The application is denied. I will hear no further argument on it.”

“None. Do you understand that word? Sit down,” ordered the judge.
“I don’t like to be spoken to that way, your honor,” replied Habba.
“It’s denied. Sit down,” said Kaplan.
This trial follows a previous ruling where Trump was ordered to pay Carroll $5 million for defamation.
Despite the previous ruling, Trump has continued to make defamatory statements about Carroll, leading to the current trial with the potential for further financial damages.
